June 2014 President’s Message

Greetings Fellow Lions,

Can you hear the singing? I can. It is Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans and something about happy trails. This is it my last bulletin article as your Prexy. My time is up and Lion Peggy and next years board will soon be in business. I hope you enjoyed last year I did. I can honestly say it has been a pleasure serving as your president. When I began I had no idea how fast it would go but it seems like I just worked steady at it and boom I was done. Thanks again to all who came forward and helped out and a double thanks to all those who gave me a chance and did not complain too much. You will be glad to know Lion Peggy will hit the ground running thanks to her collecting her board early and getting them organized with a transition meeting between the out going and in coming board members. Good luck Peggy.

The pancakes are coming the pancakes are coming!! Or they will be once we start making them on Fathers Day. About 11,000 or so. This years breakfast is close at hand and all good Hawaii Kai Lions should be hard at work selling tickets and helping with the arrangements so we can once again feed the masses and put out the welcome mat to our community. Lion Keith is hard at work with manpower and all the other pancake committee members are finalizing details to pull it all off. Please offer a helping hand when asked and as we all said in our inductions “except those assignments given”.

Lastly, I would to invite all of you to a party. On June 21 there will be a combination good riddance to yours truly and pancake volunteer appreciation party. Lion Alvin has graciously agreed to host us once again and all Lions and CIS are welcome. Further details will be announced at our next meeting but save the date on your calendars.
