March 15th – Koko Head Elementary School’s Keiki Karnival.
On March 15, 2024, five Hawaii Kai Lions, one CIS, one potential member, and one volunteer, participated in Koko Head Elementary School’s annual Keiki Karnival. The Lions were tasked with bagging and selling popcorn, being cashiers for the toy sale, and assisting at the raffle tables. As expected, the popcorn sold out, and the toy sale and raffle tables were inundated with children buying toys and wanting to win raffle prizes. At the end, two of our Lions helped the principal with distributing the raffle prizes; one of which were four UH men’s volleyball tickets.
Lions participating included Jacqueline Barnes, Yolisa Ishibashi, Marty Jorgensen, Marja Leivo, Ken Nishibun, CIS Lyn Yee, potential member Rosemary Chong, and volunteer Gale Ikeda.
In support of the schools in our community, the Hawaii Kai Lions continue to assist in important school events. It is this dedication by our members and future members, which truly shows how extraordinary you are! Thanking those who participated in this event and looking forward to their and others participation in future events.
