March 21st – Kaiser High School Concession Stand – Repairing Windows Project
On March 21, 2023, three Hawaii Kai Lions and one CIS repaired the Kaiser High School’s concession stand windows. They volunteered from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on that day and repaired five and installed spiral non-tilt balances for four of the windows, so that the windows would remain open without being propped up by wooden two by fours. Also, the front of the concession stand was painted in some areas to provide for a more cohesive look, and two cabinet door catches were installed to ensure the doors would remain closed to prevent any accidents. This project was a continuation and completion of the concession stand refurbishment.
Lions participating in this event included: Yolisa Ishibashi, CIS Anthony Nakamura, Eric Kvick, and Ken Nishibun.
Thank you to those Lions and CIS who volunteered to complete this project, as well as the initial refurbishment project, and a special big thank you to Eric Kvick who was the mastermind behind this whole concession stand project. The Kaiser High School athletic director, Nelson Chee, thanked us for all the hard work we’ve done to greatly improve the stand from what it was before.
