November 26th – Hawaii Kai Holiday Parade
A heartfelt MAHALO goes out to all of our volunteers and participating organizations for making this another very successful, fun-filled Holiday Parade. Together we emerged from our 2-year COVID hiatus with a ROARING SUCCESS!! It takes a village to coordinate within your own groups, let alone converge with many other parade participants! Yet this is what we do every parade!
Special Thank-You’s go out to this year’s Grand Marshall, Mayor Rick Blangiardi. Mahalo also to all of the 60 Police Officers who did such an outstanding job of ensuring the safety of all our participants and spectators alike! Safety has and always will be our number one concern for our Keiki!!
The Hawaii Kai Holiday Parade continues to be one of the largest and best organized community parades and that is a testament to the spirit of cooperation and volunteerism!
We had a number of media outlets at our parade including KHON, KITV, Hawaii News Now, and the Star Advertiser.
The planning committee of Lions Kendrick Chang, Al Hayashibara, Yolisa Ishibashi, Eric Kimura, Walter Kuroiwa, Ed Lee, Frances Lum, Ken Nishibun, and Tom Ono spend months planning for this much anticipated community event. With approximately 1,200 participants and some 30 vehicles, the logistics can sometimes be quite daunting, however the joy that this parade brings to our community is such a great reward!
