Oahu Heart Walk

The Hawaii Kai Lions and CIS assembled at Kapiolani Park on Saturday, August 13, 2011 to assist in the 18th Oahu Heart Walk. Reporting at 6 a.m. were Lions Roy Aoki, Delwin Ching, Dennis Ching, Cynthia Chun, Alvin Hayashibara, Alex Ho, Stanley Ito, Walter Kuroiwa, C.F. Leu, Bill Modglin, Toshi Nishioka, Richard Okamoto, Sindy Sindiong, Mino Takaesu, Mervin Wee, potential Lion Ken Bates. CIS Sally Ito, Aki Leu, Florence Nishioka, Patsy Takaesu and master Logan Wee.

The group under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Bill arranged the work area, moving tables, putting up signs and banners, setting up an assembly line to fill bags with a Subway sandwich and fruit. Other chores were putting juice in coolers and iced, distributing the goodie bags to the walkers and cleaning up the work area.
